Discipleship

Life Together Small Group:

Participants begin talking about their spiritual state and begin living as a disciple. Classes have 7 to 12 members and include both women and men. You will answer the historic question, “How is it with your soul?” The focus of these small groups is not about learning content but talking about how God is at work in our lives. Life transformation occurs by living as an apprentice to Jesus and talking to others about that relationship. We have a group of leaders that have been training and preparing for almost a full year to guide and facilitate our small groups. We will offer 5 different groups that will be at different times of the week led by Pastor John and Joy Louk, Henry and Lydia Turlington, Ann Allen, Judy Marshall, and Drew Klein. If you are interested in joining any of these groups, reach out to Drew Klein or talk to one of our leaders in person.

Reading Scripture Together:

This small group is designed to be a more casual way of exploring our Bible together. Our very own retired pastor Van Dickens has agreed to lead this small group. In this group we will read a small portion of scripture each week and we will be answering one simple question. "What does this mean for us, trying to live in the way of Jesus?" This small group will offer a format of discussion rather than teaching and will come with little to no prep work each week for those involved. This small group is an amazing opportunity to dive deeper into the Bible and see how it can apply to our lives today. This small group will meet Tuesday morning at 9AM starting September 19th. If you are interested in joining a small group like this but a morning does not work for you please reach out to Drew Klein.

Affinity Groups: If you are interested in joining a group of people that enjoy the activities you like to do then affinity groups are the right place for you. Currently we have ChurchBall which is a basketball affinity group and hope to offer a few more this fall. Come and explore an activity or sport that you and others enjoy through our church. If you are interested in starting an affinity group Drew Klein would love to talk to you about that as well. It is simple and easy to run an affinity group it just takes someone who is willing to coordinate. Right now we are looking for leaders to lead affinity groups for pickleball, volleyball, walking, and reading.

Youth Group: Youth Group is back! Youth group will start up again on August 30th with a beginning of the year party at the church. Youth group is offered for those in 6th grade through 12th grade. This will be an awesome time to come and bring a few friends to have fun and hear about what we have planned for the year. We are super excited to have a year of learning and growth planned for the kids. Youth Group will have a meal from 6:45 to 7:15 then large group and small group time to follow that will go until 8:30.

Sunday School: Sunday School is back and ready for another year of growing closer to God. We offer Sunday School for grades PreK through 5th grade. Sunday School will be offered each Sunday morning beginning September 10th from 8:30 AM till 9:15 AM. Children will get an opportunity to explore the Bible, play games, and do fun crafts together with other kids the same age. This is an awesome opportunity for children to experience a piece of church that is meant for just them and to grow deeper in their faith.

KoG Is Changing to Something New: Our previous children’s ministry, Kids of God, will be changing to a new opportunity for children together with their family. Beginning September, the second and fourth Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30 PM, kids first through fifth grade and at least one parent, grandparent, or relative will share a meal, devotional, and mission project. We’re excited about this change! Be on the lookout for the new ministry name coming this fall!
